Debbie rises to a challenge! Back in 2007 the then CEO of Centrepoint, Anthony Lawton, asked her if she could organise a little party. ’Just 500 people in a car park at Wembley Stadium.
Oh’, he said, as an after-thought, ‘it’s in six weeks time.’
The party was the initial brain-child of the Patron of Centrepoint – HRH Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge. He wanted one of his favourite charities to have a special party at the event he was organising with his brother HRH Prince Harry in memory of their late mother Princess Diana – the ‘Concert for Diana’. In record time, the Centrepoint team, led by Debbie Rix, put on great party for 500 guests, staff and young people before they went into the stadium and enjoyed the fantastic concert.
