The ‘concept’ was to feature music from 1969 – the year Centrepoint was founded, recorded by contemporary musicians alongside artists active in 1968/69. These are bespoke collaborations between iconic artists of the late Sixties and young artists at the top of today’s charts
Tracks featured include: Frank Turner ‘Build me up Buttercup’, once homeless performer Speech Debelle singing ‘Give peace a Chance’, The Feeling’s version of classic ‘In the year 2525′, Simply Red singing ‘Change of Love’, Jools and Ruby singing their classic ‘You are so Beautiful’ and Kevin Ayers recording of ‘Girl on a Swing’.
The Album was launched at Clarence House by Patron HRH Prince William. The artists wore t-shirts designed by Centrepoint ambassador Ben de Lisi – sold through Debenhams to support the project.
